Astrology for the Anthropocene: April - The Crow

Let's face it, time for the star signs to be updated. Mankind has upended the traditional seasons, replaced stars with movie stars, and changed the nature of time. So it is about time to put the old symbols behind us.

(FYI: The Anthropocene is the current epoch where mankind has changed the planet.)

I have helped create the new astrology signs based on human interaction with our moods and the planet.

April brings the return of the Crow. Did you know that Crows can hold a grudge for 10 years? It is Lisa's spirit animal.

Positives:

  • Smart
  • Cooperative
  • Quick Learner

Negatives:

  • Can hold a grudge
  • Makes snap judgments
  • Hard to change their minds once they are made up
In case you're wondering if I am full of shit here....

AI Overview
Yes, crows absolutely hold grudges, remembering specific human faces and actions for years, even passing this knowledge to their offspring, leading to generational feuds against perceived threats, a testament to their advanced memory and social learning. Studies show they can recall faces linked to harm for up to 17 years, mobbing or scolding those individuals and their masked look-alikes.

How They Do It:

- Facial Recognition: Crows can recognize and remember individual human faces.
- Social Learning: They teach other crows about dangerous people, creating a collective memory of threats within their community.
- Mask Studies: Researchers demonstrated this by wearing masks during crow captures; years later, crows would react aggressively to the same mask, even with different wearers.

Why They Do It:

- Survival: Remembering threats helps protect themselves, their families, and their territory.
- Cognitive Ability: This behavior highlights their high intelligence, complex social structures, and emotional depth, as holding a grudge means something mattered to them.

In essence, if you upset a crow, they won't forget you, and they'll make sure their friends and family don't forget you either
